ORION
115A is one of the most well-known models of “Néprádió”
(People’s radio) that
were made in Hungary in the'50s.
The main feature of this unit is its extreme simplicity.
It’s a superheterodyne with fixed tuning, it hasn’t the dial and
it can receive only three national broadcasting stations: 1)
Local repeater station, 2) Kossuth,
3) Petőfi.
The
power switch / volume control are operated by the right knob, the left knob operates the
rotating switch for the tuning and has
three positions: 0 (Local station) - K (Kossuth) - P (Petőfi).
At that time the selling price of the radio was 380 HUF.
